For anyone considering
having a Game head of any kind mounted the skinning
off of the cape is critically important to the
look and quality of the completed mount. As a rough
rule of thumb you can never take off too much cape,
but it is all too easy to take off far to little. A
short neck on Red Stag or Fallow Buck looks unbalanced
and front heavy. Some larger heads with substantial
antler growth are left staring at the floor if the cape
is cut too short. If I do not think that a head will
make a good mount I will tell you. For detailed instructions
on how to skin off a game head correctly please click
on the link below.

I can also arrange export of completed heads for overseas
customers who may have taken a quality head during a
visit. To save space, crate size and therefore shipping
costs I can make the antlers/horns detachable. Most
heads are mounted on an individually sculpted polyurethane
manikin and all skins/hides are fully defleshed/shaved
down and tanned. Hardwood shields are optional and can
be Oak, English Ash or Mahogany. I can also arrange
measuring for potential medal heads. If you have an
old or badly mounted Game head with a good or medal
antler set you can have a new cape put on it and
the antlers refinished. The old skin or cape is completely
removed and replaced with a fresh one which if required
I can provide. The result is effectively a brand new
head. If you have a Game head that you may like
to have mounted then please contact me and I will be
happy to discuss your requirements and provide you with
a quotation for having it set up.
